Best & Worst Movie Adaptations

10. BEST: 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone'

The question of which "Harry Potter" flick reigns supreme is commonly debated by fans, but the first screen adaptation of the already popular J.K Rowling book series sent the adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione into the stratosphere. Audiences were able to grow up with the characters and, even after cast and director changes, the eighth and final film propelled the series to become the highest grossing film franchise. Ever.

Superb special effects and a story full of heart make the first "Harry Potter" a truly magical experience. It's hard to forget the enchanted candles, moving staircases, and magical spells (Wingardium Leviosa) that brought Hogwarts to life for viewers of all ages. —XFINITY Entertainment Staff (Photo: Warner Bros.)
