The 1993 film "Philadelphia," the first to ever tackle the issue of AIDS on the big screen, featured dramatic performances by Hollywood legends Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. Denzel plays Joe Miller, a homophobic lawyer who agrees to help Andrew Beckett (Hanks), an attorney who was fired after his AIDS diagnosis was made public.
