When a show jumps the shark, the initial leap is typically followed by an equally boneheaded series of events. But in the case of the Jennifer Garner series "Alias," nothing happened. Nothing.
After four seasons of getting to know special operatives Sydney Bristow (Garner) and Michael Vaughn (Michael Vartan), the latter suddenly revealed a secret just before their car was t-boned by another vehicle: "My name isn't Michael Vaughn." While the character twist was bad enough, the fact that the revelation ultimately had little effect on the future storyline made it all the worse.
