When TV Shows 'Jumped the Shark'

10. 'M*A*S*H' - The Death of Henry Blake

Regarded as one of the greatest TV episodes of all time, "Abyssinia, Henry" closed the third season with the heartbreaking death of Lieutenant Colonel Henry Blake (McLean Stevenson). The episode also marked the last appearance of actor Wayne Rogers, who played Trapper John McIntyre. "M*A*S*H" didn't jump the shark in the traditional sense, as it went on to enjoy eight more successful seasons, but fans often note the dramatic shift in tone following Blake's death. —XFINITY Entertainment Staff (Photo: CBS)
