Vergara isn't just another pretty star, although 2012 saw her become the highest-paid female actress on television. Instead, she's the mega-watt indicator of a sweeping trend in media to capture the $1 trillion Hispanic consumer market. As one member of the "Modern Family" cast, the 40-year-old Colombian actress is at the top of her game; she just received her second Emmy nomination and the cast is famously playing hard-ball with 20th Century Fox for a much bigger payday. But behind the scenes Vergara's a critical co-founder of a 16-year-old talent management and new media company, LatinWE, which pulled in an estimated $27 million last year. A Pepsi spokeswoman calls the company "the connective tissue between Pepsi and the Hispanic marketplace."
