Janet Leigh wasn't even present when fate handed her an acting career. A woman named Norma Shearer was visiting a ski resort owned by Leigh's parents when she happened to notice a photograph of their radiant daughter. Struck by Leigh's looks, Shearer (whose late husband was an executive at MGM) took the photo to a talent agent, who shared her opinion. A nearly 60-year career followed that included iconic roles in "Living It Up," "The Manchurian Candidate" and "Psycho," for which she won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.-XFINITY Entertainment Staff
