In the one-year gap between her first season of "Roseanne" and her infamous rendition of the "Star-Spangled Banner," Barr made a half-hearted stab at launching a movie career in the form of "She-Devil," which, despite the fact that it co-starred Meryl Streep, or perhaps because of it, only served to highlight the deficiencies in Barr's acting. The sting was probably taken off by the fact that, a few years later, Barr became the second highest-paid woman in show business by raking in $40 million a season with "Roseanne." -Xfinity Entertainment Programmers
