BEST 1. 'Star Trek'

The "Star Trek" franchise is a multi-billion dollar property that has spawned movies, books, comics, games, merchandise and more — but it all started with Gene Roddenbury's original series in 1964. The first TV run, which featured young William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, would eventually lead to a cartoon series and four spin-off series, as well as 10 feature films from 1979-2002.

In 2009, director J.J. Abrams proved that there are still strange new worlds to explore when his "Star Trek" movie reboot became a smash hit around the world and, arguably, the best "Trek" film ever made. —XFINITY Entertainment Staff (Photo: Paramount)
