Camouflage House, Green Lake, Wisconsin

On a steep bluff overlooking a Green Lake in Wisconsin sits this long, low home called Camouflage House. Designed by Johnsen Schmaling Architects, it all but disappears into the surrounding woods. The walls are made up of a series of panels---some made of glass, others made of wood---that allude to the verticality of the surrounding deciduous tree trunks. The combination of untreated cedar and multi-hued veneer panels results in a palette that's true to the woodsy setting. The house has a zero-edge terrace that stretches along the home's entire length so the house blends with into the bluff.
