Veg Out

Instead of opting for a whole new diet plain, skip meat-centered dinners at least once or twice a week, suggests Dawn Jackson Blatner, registered dietitian and author of the book, "The Flexetarian Diet." In her research, Blatner found people were able to lose up to 15 percent of their body weight -- that’s 25 pounds if you are usually 165 pounds -- by making this simple switch. “Vegetarian protein options such as beans tend to be lower in calories, and often contain filling fiber, too, which helps you eat less overall without feeling deprived,” she explains.
