Fiction: Dietary Supplements Can Prevent Prostate Cancer

Store shelves are stocked with dietary supplements that suggest they can decrease a guy’s risk of prostate cancer or promote better urine flow. But there’s no proof behind those claims. “There’s no good scientific data to support the use of these supplements,” says Thrasher. “Guys are far better off leading a healthy lifestyle, managing weight, exercising and eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. Heart disease will kill more men than all cancers combined, and what’s good for a guy’s heart is good for his overall health, too.”
