Grading 2012's Top Free Agents

1 of 11

On Second Thought

By Jordan Raanan, XFINITY Sports

Big names in free agency get big money. It doesn't always mean big production.

Check the Redskins in the Dan Snyder era for a long list of free-agent failures. He's not alone either. Neil O'Donnell (Jets) and Larry Brown (Raiders) also come to mind. And they're just a start.

There have been a fair share of game-changers too. Reggie White, Drew Brees and Charles Woodson -- to name a few -- helped their new teams win a Super Bowl.

Last year continued the trend -- some good, some bad. It had its fair share of disappointments and success stories. See for yourself. Here were my Top 50 free agents in 2012. I graded how the top 10 did in their first season with a new team. As you can see, buyer beware, free agency, which kicks into high gear on Tuesday, is hit or miss. (AP Photos)
