New Orleans Saints

Starter/backup: Drew Brees/Chase Daniel

2012 summary: Brees set an NFL record with a touchdown pass in his 48th consecutive game, but that was one of his few positive memories in 2012. New Orleans failed to reach the playoffs for the first time since the 2008 season.

Outlook: Brees should rebound from what, for him, was a disappointing 2012 campaign now that Sean Payton has been reinstated as head coach. Daniel is headed toward free agency, but there probably won’t be a huge market for his services. One possibility is Chicago, where former Saints offensive line coach Aaron Kromer has become the new offensive coordinator. —Alex Marvez (AP Photo/Bill Haber)
