With four minutes left and a 10-0 lead over the Denver Broncos, the Buffalo Bills were fighting for their second straight AFC title. John Elway went down with an injury and previously unreliable backup Gary Kubiak took over for the Broncos. Kubiak proved everyone wrong, however, leading the Broncos on an 85-yard scoring drive to make it 10-7. Denver then successfully recovered an onside kick with two minutes left, threatening the Bills’ lead. On the ensuing drive, out of nowhere came Buffalo defensive back Kirby Jackson to force Denver running back Steve Sewell to fumble the ball, allowing Buffalo to hold on for the W.
