QUICK NOTE: XFINITY.com is the place to be for all of your bug-eatin’, back-stabbin’, “Survivor” coverage. During the season we’ll have insightful weekly Power Rankings with Reem Daly and Aubry Bracco, exit interviews, and full episode recaps. Follow me on Twitter (@gordonholmes) for up-to-the-minute updates.
The Rules: Each week our combatants will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the players will earn. For example, if Tom is voted out this episode, Reem and Aubry will receive eleven points and Gordon will receive four points. At the end of the season, the team with the most points will be named the “Survivor: Island of the Idols” Power Rankings Challenge Champion!
Quick Note: Rankings are not based on who the player thinks is most likely to win. The smart strategy is to rank players based on how safe you think they are in the upcoming vote.
Reem and Aubry’s Score: 0
Gordon’s Score: 0

Reem: I like her – so far so good. She’s good at making connections.
Aubry: Overall, she’s got that good “Survivor” energy going on right now. Keep doing what you’re doing.
1. Missy: I’ve got some bad news for Missy. She’s my official winner pick. And with my track record (except for Wendell) that’ll probably mean she’ll be voted out immediately after I type this sentence. But, maybe it’s her fault for doing such a good job in the first episode. She kept her options open, she earned Elaine’s trust. She’s the total package.
Aubry: I LOVE Elaine. Also, the hat – do I spy a nod to “Boston” Rob?
Reem: She’s so lucky she got one! How did she get a hat, WTF? I would have loved a hat, dude. All joking aside, I do love Elaine.
Aubry: Game-wise, if people are willing to put their necks on the line for you and give you advice, that’s a good sign.
2. Jack: Who doesn’t love them some Jack? Fun-lovin’, clam-catchin’ jungle boy.
Reem: I love Missy. I love her. She’s smart, she watches and sees what’s up. She’s thinking ahead by warning Elaine what’s going on, and by making the female alliance happen.
Aubry: She’s giving off that steadiness, and I am always in the market for a steady, smart, chill-as-hell partner in crime.
3. Karishma: Karishma was a finalist in the winner pick sweepstakes. I loved the way she and Missy played that first vote. But, I went with Missy because I think she’s more likely to get things done in immunity challenges.
Aubry: Fire-making goddess.
Reem: I like her. I think she’s great. I also love how she said “say what you think.” You never want to put yourself in a situation where you regret that you didn’t say anything. I commend her for encouraging Kellee to say something. That is somebody with life experience who tells young people you’ve got to make yourself heard. You’ve got to state your needs and boundaries.
Aubry: I’m with you. Also, I would pay big money to see you two share a beer.
Reem: I love her. I love everything about her. I didn’t know she was a huge Tina Turner fan! I effing love Tina Turner – she was my go-to for karaoke back in the day.
4. Tom: The former NHL player seems to be silently running the show over at Vokai. He was easing his alliance members’ tensions and being a quiet source of strength. He’s going to be one to keep an eye on.
Reem: I like how she backed up Kellee with the Dan situation.
Aubry: Agree. Sometimes letting people know where you stand and being loyal to a friend is the best way to play it.
5. Jamal: We didn’t see a lot from Jamal, but what we did see was a dude on the right track. Sticking with the majority, being likable, getting stuff done.
Aubry: She’s got herself in a good spot. Let other people take the limelight now. Being quiet at the beginning is the “Survivor” sweet spot.
Reem: She’s not on anyone’s radar, and that’s perfect. Keep doing what you’re doing.
6. Janet: It wasn’t so much that Janet made a fire without flint (which is awesome) it’s how quickly she was to share the credit with those around her. Well done.
Aubry: I’m a little worried about the Island of the Idols lie…
Reem: Dude! That’s going to come back to haunt her. Everyone is going to go out there. It would have been in her best interest to be honest. To be fair, I’m not a great liar. You never know what you’re going to do in that moment.
Aubry: I agree, and I can also totally see that happening while you’re getting your “Survivor” legs under you.
7. Tommy: Are Tommy and Elaine’s games so different? They’re both out there making buddies and being likable. Maybe the difference is that Tommy’s doing it on a one-on-one basis while Elaine seems to be holding court.
Aubry: He’s making those connections and he is masterful at it. He’s just got to make sure these smart women don’t see him as a threat too early.
Reem: You’re already in with the guys. Your job right now is to stick with the girls .
8. Chelsea: Ronnie said that Chelsea wasn’t very good at hiding her tells. This makes me really nervous about her game going forward.
Reem: I love Jack, love. He and Tommy are buddying up, though. I hope nobody knows that. He seems easy to be around.
Aubry: He’s a strong player. He’s smart, and he could go the distance if the others don’t wise up first.
9. Elizabeth: You’re liked, you’re athletic, you’re gonna be fine. But, I’m not sure what’s worse; challenging Rob in a fire-making comp or lying about what you saw at the Island of the Idols. I get that information is power, but that information is going to come out the next time a tribemate is sent over.
Reem: Same as Tommy. The minute it seems like the guys are buddying up, they are going to get broken down.
Aubry: Yup. You’re in a okay spot, Jamal. Keep it steady.
10. Dean: Hey, buddy.
Reem: So far so good. Don’t captain too much – more listening and less talking is the way to go. Let Aaron take the heat. He said that “it’s not just physical strength. It’s about working together.” I’m totally with him. He’s very wise.
Aubry: Let someone else do the fancy footwork and triple deke. It’s better not to be at the front of of the Flying V in the early days of the alliance game. I think Tom knows that though; he has a sageness to him. He just needs to hang on.
11. Lauren: Someone else I’m hoping to hear more from this week.
Reem: She’s a strong woman, but she was getting a little wishy-washy. Be smart. Act like you’re entertaining, but stick with your girls.
Aubry: Agree – don’t be the woman in the middle of the road. Sometimes, she gets run over.
12. Molly: Hopefully her tribemates like her a lot more than that clam did.
Reem: I think he’s in a good spot because he really wasn’t pointed out. Keep your “pro low.” That said, these girls are running the show.
Aubry: Agree. Sometimes being on a metaphorical “Ghost Island” can be a good thing at the beginning of the game, but we also didn’t see him actively making connections.
13. Kellee: I’m sure you’re fine, but this is still “Survivor” and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Dan could hold a grudge. Also, being sent to the Island of the Idols could put a target on your back.
Aubry: 1. I appreciate she spoke up. 2. I LOVE that other women have her back. 3. I think it’s a good sign people are willing to stand with her so early in the game.
Reem: I’m digging this cast. I’m digging the support of the women around her, and I look forward to seeing what happens on Island of the Idols. No matter what happens with her game, she should be proud as a woman that she said “no.”
14. Noura: Uh-oh…somebody’s getting the tribe weirdo edit this week.
Aubry: I definitely want her with me and not against me.
Reem: Same. It was nice that she reached out to Jason because now she definitely has a vote on her side.
15. Elaine: I will never understand the “This person is likable, let’s boot them on day three” mentality. There’s plenty of time for that. But, she’s not great at challenges and her tribe got smoked last time.
Aubry: I’m worried about Vince! Tone it down. I want you to stay.
Reem: I wanted Vince to be okay, but paranoid Vince might be bad. I think he should just be happy with his alliance and keep his nose to the ground.
16. Aaron: As the only remaining player who didn’t vote with the tribe, you should be in big trouble. But, you’re also probably the strongest person wearing an orange buff. That should earn you a few extra days to lay low and make some allies.
Aubry: It’s not great for Aaron right now, but I think if he plays up being on the outs off the bat, he could lessen his target and be seen as a viable number for someone’s alliance.
Reem: It sucks to be on the wrong end of the stick. Just be quiet. Stay with the group. Go with the flow. Don’t push it at this point; you’re outnumbered.
17. Dan: I’m glad you were able to accept Kellee’s concerns and change your actions. I’m really worried that you can’t read body language.
Reem: Keep your hands to yourself.
18. Jason: Has your standing in the tribe been hurt in an accident? Well, say what you want, Jason…but you really were idol hunting, so it wasn’t an accident.
Aubry: You’ve got to simmer down.
Reem: He needs to be completely transparent with them right now. Make yourself seen, helpful and not annoying. Same as Aaron.
19. Vince: I can play with jerks, I can play with idiots, but I can’t play with someone who is erratic. Being unpredictable will get you voted off of my team ten times out of ten.
